Cap and Trade/Carbon Emisions

Currently there is a bill going throught the Senate called the Cap and Trade bill. It is basicly trying to cut down on the amount of carbon emisions emited by companies factories. Should we pass the Cap and Trade bill? Are carbon emisions really a threat to the environment? What affects do carbon emisions have on the environment?

What do you guys think about the United States buying oil from foriegn countries? What are the advantages and disadvantages to it? Can the United States lessen the amount of oil it buys from other countries? How? Can the United States generate enough energy with its own resources to be able to completely stop buying oil from other countries. If so, how long will it take to do that and what will we use for energy?

I know this post has alot of questions in it so lets try to see how many we can get answered!

As I stated in the first post this blog is designed to ask questions then have the followers and viewers answer. The first question on this blog is... Is pollution really a problem? If so, what are some ways pollution is made and what are some different types of pollution and their effects in the environment?
